Hydrocyclone Flow Regulation

In trial installations, users generally ask us to install two valves on the hydrocyclone - one valve on the upflow outlet and the other on the downflow outlet. This allows infinite adjustment of the two flows during the trial. Once the optimum flow split is determined, most users substitute orifices for valves before bringing the Hydrocyclone into routine service. Fixed orifices ensure that operators cannot easily change the flow conditions on a production system.

ChemIndustrial provides suitable orifice blanks that match the valve length and modular clamp style. These can be drilled at the customer's site to provide the correct orifice diameter. Most customers stock spare orifice blanks to replace worn units and to make replacements if process conditions change.
